Novak Djokovic is all set to make a return to the circuit
After recharging his batteries following a tough and draining grass court season, Novak Djokovic is all set to make a return to the circuit as he is gearing up to participate in Rogers Cup Tennis tournament that is getting under way next week.
Djokovic has not been into tennis at all for some time. After the win that he secured in Wimbledon, he took time off the scene and went to holiday with kids and better half.
There was a vital Davis Cup tie in between which he had to participate in, but, he opted to miss it to give his body proper rest ahead of what can be quite a gruelling couple of months.
Djokovic has dominated everyone in the three quarters of the ongoing season so far and he would be willing it to have a good time on the hard courts as well to make sure everything gets finished on a high for him.
Djokovic will be the first seeded player at Rogers Cup. He will be followed by Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka.
If Roger Federer had been there, he would have been given the second seed, but, he withdrew citing the need for him to stay afresh for the US Open.
As far as Djokovic’s past shows in Canada are concerned, he has good memories of that country as he has won trophies there three times in the past and given his form, one can absolutely back him to have his fourth this time around especially with Federer not going to be there.
Murray’s confidence will be a little down after his first round exit from Washington, while, Wawrinka will be coming from an injury and he will perhaps not be in the best of mental spaces either.
So, Djokovic should be able to ease his way through.
