Novak Djokovic is a professional tennis player from Serbia, currently ranked as the top player by the ATP.
A seven time Grand Slam winner, Djokovic has held that top player in the rankings for 121 weeks. Six three Grand Slam wins in 2011, which turned out to be his best year as a professional, made him only the sixth player in history to win three major titles in a single year.
The Serbian reached the final of the French Open in 2012 which made him only the ninth player in the history of the Open Era to reach all four Grand Slam finals as well as only the fifth one to do it in consecutive tournaments.
Born in the erstwhile Yugoslavia, Djokovic was coached from the very early age as he dreamed of becoming a professional tennis player. He was coached by Marian Vajda from 2006 before he appointed the legendary German Boris Becker as his coach in 2013.
Novak Djokovic was first spotted at age four by former Yugoslav tennis player Jelena Gencic, who said that he was the best talent that she had seen since Monica Seles. His parents ran a fast food corner but Gencic still worked with the youngster for the next six years before he was sent abroad which seemed best for his development at that time.
Djokovic turned professional in 2003 and since then, he has been considered as one of the best players of his generation and has regularly battled with the likes of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray and is the player with the third most Grand Slam wins of players still active.
Novak Djokovic recently signed for the UAE Royals to play in the franchise oriented IPTL and has been playing for the Dubai based team since the beginning of November.
